Avantra, a provider of AIOps for SAP, has launched Avantra 25, the latest edition of its observability and automation platform. Poised to transform SAP systems with new levels of efficiency and flexibility, Avantra 25 is the first edition to integrate fully with the Avantra AIR cloud product and brings a wealth of new features and functionality.
Avantra 25's AI-supported operations also extend to SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) integration for newly managed objects with automated setup for monitoring of global accounts, sub-accounts and applications deployed on Cloud Foundry. This allows real-time and daily monitoring and analysis of costs, quotas, security and application performance. Improved insight into costs, quotas, security and applications can be used to highlight unusual spending and control cloud budgets.
Among the key upgrades is the addition of support for new SAP cloud service objects, including S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition. The new service object provides real-time and daily system diagnostics with an enhanced focus on security. The new check types introduce observability, covering expired certificates, incorrect security settings, failed login attempts and more. With issues highlighted long before they become a serious problem, the development means streamlined and much more secure operations in public cloud environments.
"Our commitment to driving enhanced performance and efficiency in SAP operations has seen our latest edition sharply focused on the cloud with the introduction of our Avantra AIR cloud-based AI extension," said John Appleby, CEO, Avantra. "The new solution will provide easy to understand explanations of your Avantra check results using cutting edge AI techniques and a knowledge base filled with key information about each check. This helps to reduce the time to resolve issues, run more securely and provides better, more timely information delivered to operations staff. We're thrilled to continue this journey to greater business performance by leveraging the latest advances in AI to maximum effect."
In addition to improved S/4HANA and BTP functionality, Avantra 25 enables customizable integration of the Ansible automation core platform. Ansible playbooks are widely used for infrastructure automation and can now be included within an Avantra automation workflow which brings together the best of two worlds. Avantra managed objects can also be integrated into Ansible inventories for seamless SAP system management, while Ansible playbooks can be created and run with enterprise-grade source code control.
The inclusion of a SAP SUM repeat automation template also allows an upgrade process to be recorded and added to the Avantra workflow to then be repeated as many times as needed.
In Avantra 25, checks have a new look, too, with easy to understand explanations of check results and a searchable timeline view showing the check history and overlaying any sent notifications if needed. Delivered using advanced AI techniques and a knowledge base of information about each check, the upgrade gives support personnel critical knowledge at key moments, accelerating diagnostics and service recovery.
In addition, a custom check template feature enables rapidly changing content to be quickly shared using new templates to detect the latest security vulnerabilities or share best practices.
Bernd Engist, CTO, Avantra, said, "From native support of SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition and SAP BTP to Ansible automation integration, with our latest AI extension the Avantra platform now provides robust cloud integration for hybrid and cloud native environments. By increasing the opportunities for automation and harnessing the power of AI to do so, Avantra 25 offers the latest in improved operations and underscores the platform's role as a trusted partner for SAP automation, delivering scalable, innovative solutions that meet the demands of the modern enterprise."
