TeamViewer, a provider of remote control and online presentation software, has introduced TeamViewer 7. The new version incorporates a new online meeting solution as well as further advances the software’s remote access features.
TeamViewer 7 allows the creation of an online meeting with just one click. Accessible via any Web browser, participants can join a Flash-based meeting without having TeamViewer installed. With TeamViewer 7, meetings can be scheduled in advance and planned via Microsoft Outlook. The host can send an invitation containing all the practical joining information in one place, including the URL and optional conference line details.
Up to 25 users can enjoy its fully interactive capabilities, which include screen sharing, video conferencing, text chat, a whiteboard for presentations, and the new ‘File Box’ through which documents are shared. The presenter can also pause, stop and record sessions that may then be converted into an AVI file for future reference.
Launched alongside Version 7 is the free ‘TeamViewer Meeting’ App, available for Android devices, iPhone and iPad. This streamlined App provides a simple solution for those who need to attend presentations on-the-go. By simply entering the meeting ID, participants can instantly join and view meetings from a handheld device or tablet, iOS users can even listen to the meeting. The Apps ensure that important presentations won’t be missed. Meeting participants don’t need a license to join a meeting and non-commercial users experience full functionality for free.
TeamViewer 7 expands and improves upon an already strong remote access feature set. Developments include full drag-and-drop functionality from a session window to a local computer, or vice versa; full multi-monitor support enabling users to see two or more remote screens on two or more local screens, store preferences, which avoids adjusting settings every time a remote session begins; and screenshots. TeamViewer Manager, the tool used to keep track of current and past sessions, has also undergone huge performance improvements and is now up to 4 times faster than before.
"TeamViewer 7 combines remote access and online meetings into one useful business solution," said Holger Felgner, General Manager at TeamViewer. "Whether you’re a salesman demonstrating savings to a potential client or an office-based manager collaborating remotely with a global team, TeamViewer 7 perfectly meets your needs. In addition, TeamViewer 7 also brings new potential for communication to private users, for free."
As with all TeamViewer solutions, every communication between the viewer and the viewed computer or computers is encrypted with AES 256-bit encoding, providing maximum security.
TeamViewer 7 is available now for Windows computers from www.teamviewer.com/version7. The TeamViewer Meeting App for Android is available at the Android Market Place. The iOS app will be available later in December from the App Store. The software update for Mac computers will be released in early 2012.
TeamViewer offers different lifetime licenses tailored to the needs of a company, without recurring costs. TeamViewer pricing is all-inclusive, add-on components require no further licensing. Business licenses for the complete solution, including support and minor version updates, start at a one-time fee of 499 Euro. For private use, TeamViewer is completely free, without any limitations to functionality.
