MStar Plans to Become World's First TV Solution Provider to
                     Adopt DivX Plus Streaming

TAIPEI, Taiwan, June 6, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- COMPUTEX 2012 -- Rovi
Corporation (Nasdaq:ROVI) today announced plans for its DivX(R) Plus
Streaming technology to be integrated into MStar System-on-a Chip (SoC)
platforms for Smart Digital TVs (DTVs). The collaboration with MStar
Semiconductor, Inc., a leading semiconductor company for display and
digital home solutions, continues the industry support for DivX Plus
Streaming(TM) to enable consumer electronics manufacturers to more
rapidly release DTVs that support the feature-rich adaptive streaming
solution. Rovi will demonstrate DivX Plus Streaming at the Rovi booth
at COMPUTEX, June 5-9, Taipei World Trade Center, Hall 3 (#G0436).

"Rovi's close working relationship with MStar, a noted industry leader
in DTV platforms, not only adds to the momentum for DivX Plus Streaming
but also our traction with technology leaders in the Greater China
region," said Matt Milne, executive vice president, worldwide sales and
marketing, Rovi Corporation. "Importantly, our expanded relationship
with MStar should help accelerate the availability of a dramatically
improved over-the-top entertainment experience for consumers."

The planned integration between DivX Plus Streaming and MStar's popular
platform would enable consumer electronics manufacturers to deliver a
full-featured over-the-top multimedia entertainment experience.
Lightweight and easy to deploy, DivX Plus Streaming offers support for
1080p video resolution, subtitles, multiple language tracks, and
trick-play functions such as smooth fast forward and rewind that have
historically only been associated with entertainment on Blu-ray Discs.
DivX Plus Streaming expands the value of the already popular DivX
Plus(R) HD Certification program, which brings these same advanced
multimedia features to 'download to own' video content.

"DivX Plus Streaming further enhances the advanced digital
entertainment features of MStar SoCs and the other Rovi digital
entertainment solutions that our platforms currently support," said
Kevin Kang, vice president of sales and marketing, MStar. "Rovi
technologies help further our mandate to continually push the envelope
and extend the capabilities of our processor family to address our
customers' needs for exceptional performance."

MStar has previously integrated a range of Rovi solutions onto MStar's
platforms, including DivX technology, the Rovi Entertainment Store and
Rovi TotalGuide(TM). The collaboration between Rovi and MStar is aimed
at helping to streamline and expedite development of CE devices with
advanced technologies, such as comprehensive media guide, high-quality
playback of premium content and streaming video delivery.

To develop DivX Plus Streaming, Rovi built upon core DivX technologies
recognized by millions of consumers around the world for delivering
great video performance, visual quality, advanced feature set and
multi-screen interoperability. The solution also utilizes trusted
digital rights management technology currently used by a number of
online retailers offering movies in the DivX format including WB Shop
and Media Markt. To accelerate time to market and device integration,
Rovi has built out the existing certification program used for DivX
technology device validation and compatibility -- a program that has
resulted in shipment by top-tier manufacturers of over 600 million DivX
consumer electronics devices into the market.
