LinkedIn Promotes Kevin Scott to Senior Vice President of Engineering

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Feb. 9, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- LinkedIn
(NYSE:LNKD), the world's largest professional network on the Internet,
today announced the promotion of Kevin Scott to senior vice president
of engineering. In his expanded role, Scott will continue to direct key
engineering efforts to accelerate innovation and deployment of new
services for LinkedIn members. Scott will report directly to LinkedIn
CEO Jeff Weiner.
Scott joined LinkedIn in February 2011 as vice president of
engineering. In this role, he was instrumental in expanding and
enhancing LinkedIn's rapidly growing software infrastructure, and he
led far-reaching engineering initiatives to increase the value LinkedIn
delivers to its members.
Scott's 20-year career in technology spans both academia and industry
as researcher, engineer, strategist and leader. Scott joined LinkedIn
in February 2011 from Google, where he led mobile ads engineering.
Prior to this, he ran engineering and operations at AdMob, the world's
leading platform for mobile monetization, and was instrumental in the
integration efforts following the $750 million acquisition of AdMob by
Google in 2010. Previously, Scott held numerous leadership positions at
Google in search and ads engineering.
